I work on short-to-medium-term project engagements, typically 1–6 months, as a limited company contractor operating outside IR35. All work is delivered against agreed specifications with defined outputs.
What I deliver
ML pipeline development End-to-end design and implementation of machine learning pipelines in Python — from data ingestion and feature engineering through model training, validation, and production deployment. I build systems that are reliable, reproducible, and maintainable by your team after I leave.
Bayesian inference & statistical modelling Rigorous probabilistic modelling for problems where uncertainty quantification matters. Maximum-likelihood estimation, MCMC, nested sampling, and custom statistical frameworks. Particularly strong where standard off-the-shelf models don’t fit the problem — noisy data, correlated measurements, or results that need to be trusted.
Scientific data engineering Building robust analysis pipelines for complex, high-volume, or high-dimensionality data. Extensive experience scaling Python workflows to HPC infrastructure and containerising for reproducibility across environments.
Computer vision Custom CV solutions in Python with OpenCV — image processing, feature detection, automated alignment, and analysis pipelines for scientific or industrial imaging applications.
Data strategy & technical consultancy Scoping engagements, architecture reviews, or helping a team decide on the right approach before committing to a build.

- World-first 5 nm resolution in single-molecule localisation microscopy, achieved by identifying and correcting systematic biases in the standard pipeline
- 10× improvement in computational efficiency for large-scale numerical simulations

- Remote — available to work fully remotely across UK and international clients
- Project-based — work is scoped to deliverables, not time-and-materials by default
